Coming into the weekend in London, Wimbledon fans will be treated to some rowdy Semi-Final match ups. Let's take a deeper dive into things here.
Mens Semi Final Matchups
Carlos vs. Daniil
Out of the four semi final matchups, make no mistake, this will be the one to watch, the most viewed match on Thursday or Friday. Carlos will be favoured to win this match, there is zero doubt about that. His speed, strength and power will be a massive problem for Daniil. Carlos' greatest strength on the grass court is his ability to mix and match his opponents with variety. He will bomb forehands down your throat and follow those up with silky smooth droppers.
The only chance Medvedev has on the grass vs. a motivated Carlitos is to get on top of him early. Do not let Alcaraz get the crowd going. This is much easier said than done but look for Daniil to come out free swinging with nothing to lose, because let's face it, all the pressure in the world is on Carlos here.
Djoker vs. Musetti
While no one expects much out of Musetti, he is a very good all court player who has played very well over the last few months. However, the only reason anyone will watch this match is because of the 24-time grand slam winner Novak. Was Nole justified in yelling at the crowd? Probably not. Will he do it tomorrow? Of course he will.
This match up is far less about tennis and more so about how Novak will orchestrate the crowd.
Womens Semi Final Matchups
Vekić vs. Paolini
Paolini is a ball of fire, although small, she packs a serious punch has a well round game for the tricky grass courts in London. Look for her to impose her game and get through this match with little stress.
Krejčíková vs. Rybakina
If Paolini will have an easy time, all Rybakina has to do tomorrow is show up. It has been a long time since the WTA has seen a ball striker like Rybakina. She moves well, has a great serve and seems to play her best tennis when the lights shine the brightest. Rybakina has breezed through the tournament so far and she shows zero signs of slowing down.
